About the Machine
The Hiawatha X17 was produced in the early 1970s by Hiawatha Motors of Escanaba, Michigan, one of many small-batch Midwestern sled builders during the snowmobile boom. Though short-lived, these machines were known for their simplicity, sturdy construction, and local dealer pride across Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
