Vehicle Information – Skiroule Laser Plus Snowmobile
The Laser Plus was one of Skiroule’s high-performance trail sleds from the mid-1970s, built when the Quebec manufacturer was chasing speed and handling to match the big names. The 440 Plus models were powered by a Kohler K440-2AS twin, displacing about 436cc and known for strong, reliable power delivery. A single Walbro carburetor and performance-oriented clutching helped the Laser Plus pull hard off the line and keep building speed across open snow.
What really set the Laser Plus apart was its wider track: while standard Lasers used a 15-inch belt, the Plus version stepped up to a track in the 17–18 inch range for extra bite and flotation. Combined with Skiroule’s lightweight chassis and aggressive ski stance, this gave the sled confident cornering and impressive traction on packed lakes or drifted fields. Any Skiroule Laser is rare today, and the Plus models—built in smaller numbers—have become especially sought after by collectors who appreciate their unique styling, Quebec heritage, and surprisingly strong trail manners.
